Let the Bubble... Pop

Hey All

I have been here so far for 7 months and my experience has been amazing but we here have something called a "Disney Bubble". Because of this bubble we tend to forget about all the things outside of the Disney Parks.

For the past month or so I have ventured outside of the "Disney Bubble" and visited some incredible places and did some amazing things with awesome people.

Daytona International Speedway

My partner in crime Allison and I headed off to Daytona to take a tour around the Speedway. My dad watches the races back home and I would sit down sometimes and watch them with him. The race track is so big in real life and not like  I thought at all. We were taken on a tour of the grounds that included the VIP boxes, visitors spot and victory lane. We saw so many amazing pictures of the past and present as well as a module of their future plans.
During the tour Allison and I noticed that the clouds were getting very dark and at the end of tour we went back to the tram to head back to the main building and were drenched from head to toe.  After we went shopping so I could get dry clothes. We also finished the day with dinner.

I state the Allison is my partner in crime because we are always having the most awesome time. It was no different when we took a trip to Kennedy Space Center. I was amazed at everything I saw and experienced. There was so much to see I took about a hundred photos. Well we were there we visited the memorial wall which was both sad and inspiring. Like it always does when we decide to go out it rained but thankfully we found shelter and did not get soaked. I bought a new coat and a new sweater. Allison and I also got season passes so we will be going back since there was a lot that we did not see.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love country music. I was so lucky to get to see Luke Bryan with my friends Bry, Zac, Vanessa (F&B) and Jeremy.  It felt so good to let go and enjoy one of my favourite singers.

One of my favourite things to have down here is my seasons pass to Universal. Most simple reason I love it is because of Harry Potter... of course. Allison, Wiebke (Germany Merch) and myself went there and I had a great time. We went on a couple rides I had yet to go on like ET and Men in Black. I tried Butter Beer for the first time and I have to say the non frozen which I had was really good. We also got to see the Hogwarts performances which I was amazed with since I had seen so many videos on YouTube and was happy that they were even better in person.  We went and had dinner at the Hard Rock CafĂ© before the park closed.

I have not forgot about how much fun Disney is however. Not to long ago Laura from Canada F&B who I arrived with celebrated her 25th Birthday and I one of the lucky ones who got to celebrate with her. I met up with her and Kaylea (my best friend who is a CP at MK) at Epcot where we traveled around the world and had a drink in Mexico and so on. Later on we met up with a few others girls and had dinner in Japan. The food was beyond amazing and the service was one of my best experiences.  After dinner we headed to Jellyrolls which is a bar on the boardwalk.

It has started.... yes you guessed it Christmas has started here in Disney which should be in my next post. On a sad note we had to say goodbye to two amazing girls which will also be in the next post. On a super happy note for me my family will be here in about 21 days.

September was... Spooky

Hi Everyone

So I gave a tiny teaser a few days ago and it got a lot of views so I thought I should not make you wait much longer and put my first post up now.

I have done so much since my last post so this post is going all about Friday the 13th at Hollywood Studios, Mickey's Not So Scary and my Granny and Aunt's visit.

Mickey's Not so Scary
As soon as September came so did the pumpkins, ghosts and goblins at Magic Kingdom. Disney does an event for Halloween called Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party which I attended with a couple of my merch and attractions friends. It was so much fun for everyone to dress up and go around the Magic Kingdom and trick or treat. We had so much candy that I still have a bag FULL of it. There
was a Halloween Parade with some amazing costumes and scary characters. In true Florida fashion it rained for a little bit but that did not stop us from enjoying the super cool Halloween Fireworks.

I am so lucky that my family is not so far away that they can come to visit and I was super lucky to have my granny (dad's mom) and aunt visit last month.
They arrived and I went to Pop Century where they were staying. I saw them checking in at the desk and a very nice cast member let me cut the line to surprise them. It was so amazing to hug them and talk to them in person.  I also got to go with them to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom as well as watch Illuminations with them at Epcot. My aunt managed to get us into Be our Guest for dinner and since
Beauty and the Beast is my fav Disney movie I was so stoked. It was so cool and at the end we got to meet with the beast which was so cool.

We ordered Pizza one night and I had a sleepover. My aunt and I had a drink by the pool and later had a midnight swim at the pool which was super fun. They also took me to go see Spirit of Aloha which is a dinner show at the Polynesian resort . It had hula dancers, a fire dancer and a great cast with a wonderful story to tell. I would definitely recommend it to everyone of all ages.

On Friday the 13th Disney had an amazing villain night featuring Hades and Meg. It was so cool because there were 13 villains plus Hades. The fireworks were the most insane fireworks I have ever seen Disney do and I was so lucky I could experience them.

September was amazing and with Food and Wine right now October is already just as amazing. Look out for all that in the next post :).

On a Sad note my bedroom roommate Kimie had to leave :(. I miss her a whole lot but I know I will see her again.

Time Flys..When you have a little magic

Hey Everyone

I moved here to Florida leaving my family and friends back in Canada 6 months ago! It is so hard to believe that it has been six month.

I was hoping I would have time to write a long post with stories but that will have to be tomorrow or sometime this week since I have been super busy.

I will post some photos of really cool things I have done so far since some of you can not see them on  my Facebook (hopefully more will be in a blog soon).

if you can dream it... you can do it

Hey All

I know that I did not do a post for August, so since I am stuck inside due to the extreme thunder storm (as always) I thought this would be a good time to sit down and write my post for August.

A lot happened in August but one really import thing happened... My mom and best friend Chelsey came, of course.

I was super lucky and so happy that I had every day off while they were here. It was amazing to see them because lately I had been so homesick.

They arrived on Monday August 19th and I went with Zac to meet them and check into the hotel. We stayed at All Star Music and were placed in the Country Fair bulding, which was way at the back of the resort and was fine for me since I am used to walking everywhere. It was amazing to have my mom and best friend to share this amazing place with.

I am not sure if I mentioned this before but it was Chelsey's first visit to Disney and my mom was celebrating a very important birthday (which I will keep a secret). My mom could not have picked a better place to celebrate her birthday. She had everyone wishing her happy birthday including a diver at the seas in Epcot and a harmonica playing cast member at our resort. It was so cool to see what it is like for the guest since I am normally on the other side of the magic. One of the things my mom and I had planned before she came down was a character lunch at Crystal Palace on the 21st (her birthday). The cool thing about Crystal Palace is that you get to meet Winnie the Pooh and some of his wonderful friends. It was a cool surprise for Chelsey because we kept it a secret till we got there. Chelsey is also a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh.

They were here for 6 full days and we did all four parks including Downtown Disney which was one of our favourite places (shopping and Earl of Sandwich). My mom and Chelsey got to meet a lot friends in the UK pavillion and quite a few in Canada which was really nice.

Chelsey had a very emotional moment during one of the parades which made me think about all of the children and families who come into the store wearing their first visit buttons. It helped me out a lot because I had forgotten about the magic of seeing Disney for the first time and being with her helped me to connect with first time visitors better.

We went on a lot of the major rides and enjoyed so many of the amazing shows. I missed them when they had to leave but it was the best thing ever having them here and I was thrilled that Chelsey got to experience the magic that she thought she would never get to see.

Unfortunately, I did receive quite a bit of sad news from home as well last month.

When my mom was down visiting we received news that my great aunt had passed away. I was very sad to hear this because she was an amazing woman who was always willing to hear one of my crazy stories I would tell as a little girl. It did not matter how the story ended or even if it had an end, she would always listen. She will be missed so very much by my whole family.

A week later I also found that my cat had passed away. Although I did not always get along with my cat since I am more a people person, she was part of my family and it will not be the same without her when I return home.

Sorry it took so long to write this post!

Happy Birthday.. To All

Hi

So I know that it has been a VERY long while since I posted anything and I promised my mom I would so here it goes.

I will start off by saying that July has been crazy busy and I am not even sure why. Although it may have to do with all the birthdays and having to say goodbye to another amazing person.

So I can not remember everything I did but I will try to write down as much as I can.

I went to Universal for the second time with Zac. We tried to go to the Transformers ride but like all new and awesome rides it was shut down (got to love technology). So instead we decided to go on two of the couple water rides they have. I was soaked and bought a pretty new blue dress. After that we went to see Despicable me 2 (which was super cute). We have also seen Grown ups 2.

July seemed to be the month of Birthdays so I will talk a little bit about those.

Bry had her 20th birthday and of course we had to celebrate in a really cool resort restaurant so she choose Boma which is buffet style at Animal Kindom Lodge and was absolutely delicious. It was me, Mallory, Danielle, Janice ( Canada F&B) as well as birthday girl Bry. We also went out later and celebrated Bry and other birthday girl Alison (Canada F&B) .

My friend Wiebke aka Wiwi (Germany Merch) turned 21 so we had a small but wonderful party for her. It was awesome to get to hang out with her and my friends Gary (UK F&B) Robert (UK Merch) and fellow Canadian merchie Alex. I also got to meet a couple of Wiwi's friends.

Well I am down here my cousin Emily and best friend Taylor both had birthdays in July as well as my Papa on Aug 3rd. I got to Skype with my Papa for his birthday which was so awesome. I love my family and it was so good to see and talk to them.

On a sadder note we had to say goodbye to Jess (Canada Attractions). I was very lucky and got to hang out with her for her last Wishes and Illuminations. It was so bitter sweet :(.

On one of my days off I went to MK and got pixie dusted ( I am sure it is still in my hair) for the first time which for a fairy fan like me was so exciting. I wasn't the only one though

Kailei, Laura S and Laura B (new merchie ) also got pixie dusted :)

I am sure that there is a few things I am forgetting but hopefully not much.

My mom and best friend will be coming in 14 days so look for an amazing blog post about that week.

Canada Day....and 4th of July

Last week was Canada Day and 4th of July and both were amazing and packed with really cool fireworks.

Monday of last week was Canada Day and also my RDO (lucky me) so Zac and I went to Epcot where there was a really cool surprise waiting for us (which I will keep a secret).  After we went to the Canadian pavilion and celebrated with all of our other amazing Canadians Zac, Cam and I went and rode Sorin. We also met up with Nicole (Canada Attractions) and went to Test Track however when we got there it started to pour rain so we headed to Magic Kingdom instead where we met up with Allison and Tori. We were all dressed in red and white and had beads and Canada tattoos which must of looked crazy but it was soooo much fun. At MK we went on the people mover and Buzz
Lighter which was so much fun although Nicole and I had the lowest scores :( . We all decided that we wanted to go to Monster Inc Laugh floor since they added a new Monsters U part to it. For anyone who does not know what it is the Laugh floor is an interactive show where the monsters interact with the audience similar to Turtle Talk with Crush. In the show there is a title called "that guy" which a lot of the cast members want to be. Zac really wanted to be "that guy" and he got his wish which was really cool. We were also told that Canada threw up on us (it was funny).

On Tuesday I got to sleep in which was nice. Later on Zac and I went back to MK to watch the special 4th of July fireworks that they had in place of wishes. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

It was also my roommates birthday and we happened to bump into her while we were getting Starbucks which was cool.

Wednesday was my long day of work since I worked 1030 till 9 but I didn't mind although it was a very sad day because we had to say goodbye to another awesome merchie (Zach). It was amazing working with him and I and the rest of merch are going to miss him like crazy. At night I went and saw Monsters Inc  2 which was is such a good movie.

It is very hard to see such an amazing guy leave but we will be getting a new merch member soon (arriving tomorrow) so although we will be missing a member we will have a new girl to get to know.

On Thursday Epcot was packed for the 4th and I really enjoyed working it. I got to see the fireworks from a window in one of the stores which was a once in a lifetime experience.

Yesterday I got off work early and so did Julie so we came home and went in the pool and then ate pizza and watched a movie. It felt so good to just relax.

Here Together... Friends Forever

Hey Guys

So I have had a pretty crazy week. I thought I would take some time before bed to write down what I have done so far since I have a busy week coming up with July 1st and 4th.
I will be off Canada Day and will be working 10 hours on July 4th so it will be a good week.

This week was my friend Courtney's (Canada attractions)  last week.  It was awesome because most times I do not get to go to be at anyone's last anything but I got to go to Courtney's last Fantasmic, last Illuminations and throw out.

On Monday I stayed home and relaxed until night time when I went out with girls from the Canadian pavilion.

My Pineapple.. Yum
On Tuesday I slept in which was nice and then I met up with Kailei and Katie at DTD. Kailei went to hang out with a friend so Katie and I went shopping and then headed over to Hollywood Studios for Courtney's last Fantasmic. When I was at DTD I had a chocolate covered pineapple which was so super good. We also took a boat over to Old Key West to take the bus to Hollywood.
When we got to Hollywood Studios we met up with Kailei, Matt (Canada Attractions), Courtney and Lorin (Canada F&B). We had so much fun and although it was sad that it was Courtney's last I am so happy I got to spend it with her. Afterwards we went back to Courtney's house for her throw out :(.

On Wed I had a very short day at work since I went in at 10:30 and got to leave around 3. I got to leave early so that I could see Courtney do her last spiel at the attraction. I was so happy I got to see it and was very lucky to get off in time for it.
Afterwards Matt and I went to find a gift for Courtney (which she loved). We went and ate at the American Adventure and then met up with a whole group of amazing people and did a walk around the world where we drank, ate and rode Norway's boat ride. We ended the evening with Illuminations.

Next month we will losing some more really awesome Canadians and it will be tough to say good bye (for now) but we will also be getting some more Canadians so there will be good with the bad.

I am going to be posting my Canada Day blog soon so look out for it :)

Shop til I.... Shop more

Hey All

Last Monday and Tuesday I forgot my camera which means that I have no pictures for the first part of the post. Sorry :(

Last Monday was a pretty relaxed day. I did my laundry in the morning and went to get the mail. Later in the day Zac and I went to both premium outlets to do some shopping. I was really happy because I found this really cool dress. While we were at one of the outlets a  huge thunder storm broke out. I was a little worried we would not get back to the I-trolly in time but Zac led the way and we made it home. The rain stopped by the time we got back and since it was Monday  we headed to games.

On Tuesday I went to property control with Kailei, Tori and Katie. Afterwards we were hungry so we took a cab over to the boardwalk and went to the ESPN bar/restaurant. We sat at a very high table which I thought I was going to fall off of. Afterwards we went to Epcot and Kailei did a Duffy Bear around the world. We met up with Zac and we went to Canada kidcot where Kailei colored her Duffy and Tori gave Allison her panda ball (okay she threw it at her which was very funny.) It started to pour rain and thunder so we were stuck at Canada kidcot for a while. When the rain stopped we all went and ate at the electric umbrella. After that we went home tired :(. I went back to my room and relaxed, watched some movies and talked to my family.

On Saturday I was off early so I met up with Julie (who had the day off) and we went shopping. It was so awesome to hang out with her. I don't think I have told the story of how I met Julie so I will take a minute to tell it.

When I was at the interview in Toronto I was so nervous before hand and everyone around me was talking in little groups so I decided that I was going to talk to someone so I was less nervous. There was a girl in front of me wearing really cool Disney jewelry so I told her how much I liked it and she told me she liked mine :). Then we all went in  a classroom and Julie and I sat beside each other and jumped up and down like little school girls at the Disney videos we were shown. It made me feel so much better talking to Julie that day and so I am super excited to  have her here now:)

Last night for our games this week we went to MK for a scavenger hunt. It was definitely one of my favourite nights. Leah and I were on a team together and we definitely had a fun time finding everything.

On a side note my family is amazing because I received a really really cool care package today. There were notes from my mom, dad and sister which is exactly what I have been needing lately.

Also it is my parents 24th anniversary today. I love my parents so much and miss them like crazy :)
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad <3

Ohana means family... and family means nobody gets left behind

Hi All

So I have been here for two months already which is soooo crazy. My feet are starting to really hurt but I am still enjoying every minute I am here.

This month started out on a lower note for me with people leaving and working some longer hours however after my two recent days off I am starting to feel so much better.

On Monday this week I went to Animal Kingdom with Zac and saw the Festival of The Lion King (one of my favorite shows) as well as  it's tough to be a bug. Zac and I had never seen Finding Nemo the Musical so we went to see it and I absolutely love it. I will definitely be seeing it a lot more times. We had snagged fast passes for Everest however it rained so we decided to just head to Grand Floridian to check it out. We had reservations at Ohana's so we walked over to Polynesian from Grand Floridian and I took a picture of the Wedding Pavilion which is beautiful. We got to the Polynesian  a little early so we checked out the pool and I changed into my dress that I had bought at AK. The food and setting at Ohana's is amazing and I loved it! After dinner we went and watched Wishes from the Polynesian beach which was a great way to end off the day.

On Tuesday I got to sleep in which was super cool. Later I met up with Kailei at Epcot where she bought Katie's Birthday present. Once we where done buying Katie's present in the UK we headed over to Canada where I bought Ketchup chips (of course). It is crazy how much you want something when it is no longer around all the time because back home I never really liked Ketchup chips but here I was so excited to eat them. After visiting our friends at Canada we went to Hollywood Studios to meet up with Cam who was also off. We went and ate at Pizza Planet because we were super hungry. After we ate we went to the Muppets show. It was raining like it always does on my day off (and every day ) so we went to Saratoga Springs and caught the bus to DTD and went to the AMC to watch EPIC. I liked the movie however Cam and Kailei seemed not to. On a side note I ate a white chocolate strawberry and a peanut caramel candy apple.

The picture on the left is one I found on Google but the one on the right is the one I took of my strawberry
On Wed I got up early to work at 10:45 until 9:30. For anyone keeping count that is a 10 hour shift. We had four people working that day so it was very long. It was also Matt's (Canadian merchie) last day. I got through the day but it was long and sad.

Thursday was a good day and so was Friday. On Friday I got off at 5 and so did Zac so we stayed at Epcot and ate around world showcase as well as shopped a little. We stopped at Test Track which was closed but we did go and check out all the cars. I watched Illuminations and then we met up with the Canadians just getting off work and we all went to the Yacht and Beach club to catch the bus to  DTD so we could go to the AMC and watch Man of Steel. It was my second movie in a week which made me think about my theater family back home.

Tomorrow I work but I am off Mon and Tues so I should have another new post soon.

Tomorrow is also fathers day so I want to send out a Happy Fathers Day to my Dad and my Papa.

Spring Showers Bring... My Family

Hi All

Since I have not posted in a while this one may be a bit too long so for that I apologize.

May was an awesome month for me because I had my aunt, uncle, cousin, sister(s) and friends visit me. I had so much fun with all of them that I am taking today off from some fun (until games of course) so I can clean my room and do my laundry which I have not had time for.

This past month has been very emotional for me so I will start my post off with the sad part of my month. As I have said in my blog before one of my not so favourite things to do here is say goodbye. Unfortunately  we had to say goodbye to a really awesome Canadian and fellow merchie Jodey. Jodey is going to be super missed and although I did not get a whole lot of time with her I know I have an awesome new friend. At Jodey's throw out which is our way of getting free stuff and sending our friends off in awesome Canada fashion she had to pass down a few awards and of course I am now the proud owner of the short merchie award :). On Jodey's last day I went to work in the pouring rain (it rains every day) and watched Jodey be recognized for her awesomeness. After that I had a little time until work so Katie, Shelby and I went to Morocco for lunch (it was amazing). After Shelby and Katie went to work I went and colored at Canada Kidcot where I saw Robyn (Canada Attraction) who is another awesome friend. I made a very cute Duffy and then headed to get dressed for work. I was lucky because I got to see Jodey do her handprint just before I went to work. Shelby and I had to work till 9:30 so we missed Jodey's last wishes (since wishes is at 10) however we raced over to MK in time to ride Jodey's fav ride Haunted Mansion. There was like 16 of us in the group so it was crazy. Zac gave Jodey, Allison, Janice (f&b) and I a ride home so I got to say goodbye to Jodey at home instead of in front of the park.

On a happier note my sister Lauren and honorary sister Abby along with Abby's awesome family came to Disney at the end of the month. It was so much fun hanging out with them on my days off. We went to Hollywood on the Monday and Epcot on the Tuesday. When I saw them on Monday I gave them all such big hugs. I loved going to all of my favourite rides and shows with them. Lauren and Abby were chosen as the key holders at the Jack Sparrow thing which was really cool. I also got to go on the Toy Story ride for the first time. I said goodbye to them and headed to Jodey's last games :(. On Tuesday I met up with them at Epcot and we went on Sorin' which I had not been on yet this year. I also watched Illuminations as a guest which was very different. Afterwards I went back to their hotel with them. They were staying at Art of Animation which is amazing.

Wednesday did have a sad note however when I had to say a tearful goodbye to my sister.

I have made reservations for my family to come in December and my mom and best friend Chelsey to come in August so I am keeping that in mind which helps not being so sad. My aunt and granny are also going to visit in the fall so I will have a lot of family around.

On another note I have not let work keep me from having fun since I went to the movies with Leah (Canada Attractions) Robyn and Alex to see Now you See Me and went to Applebees last night with a group of my friends.

We are receiving at least 10 new Canadians including our two new merchies Julie and Erica tomorrow so I better get myself ready for Thursday's throw in.

Time Flies... When you are having fun

Hey All

So I have not wrote a blog in a very long time :(

For the first part of the month I was very sick with a sinus headache which meant I was sleeping a lot. On one of my days off I had slept in till 5:30 pm.

I have been to Magic Kingdom  a lot this month. I have also been to Hollywood Studios a lot.

My aunt, uncle and cousin just visited Disney so I was really lucky and got to spend some time with them. It felt so good to see some of my family. I am also really lucky because I will get to see more of my family on Saturday.

I am sure that I am missing a whole lot more of information but I will add another post soon I hope.

Holy Cow.... It has been a month

Hey Everyone

I apologize for being so far behind in my blog posts. It has been so crazy lately. I am also writing this today before I go to work because I have officially been here for a month.

A LOT has happened since my last blog so I am hoping that I can remember it all.

On the Wed we had a cast party at Typhoon which was AMAZING. There was fireworks and really cool music. I did get hit around by waves and I am still feeling the pain but it was soooo cool.

In my last blog I mentioned the new arrivals which included our new merchie Alex. I went to their throw in on Thursday after a great day of work and got to hang out with my wonderful fellow Canadians.

Friday It rained like crazy but it did not stop Alex ,Jodey and I from going shopping. She found a grad dress that she liked and then we had dinner in the food court. It is going to be hard when she leaves this month because she has become an awesome friend :(.

On Sat when Alex received his Disney ID I met him and Cam (new F&B Canadian) and Shiv (CRP from India) at Magic Kingdom where we rode all three mountains (ie. Space, Splash and Thunder). It was so much fun to go on these rides during Wishes. The next night I also went mini putting after work which in Disney is so much fun!

As you may remember my RDOs are Monday and Tuesday so of course I did some really cool stuff on both days.

On Monday after doing my laundry (like a good girl) I went to the pool to hang out with my Canadian girls Bry and Laura D as well as Scott and Conner from Scotland.  We were also joined by some of our other friends from Italy. We ordered pizza and then it got very windy and somewhat cold. Not sure what living here is doing to me but I put on my jeans when I got home and met up with Alex and went out for dinner. After dinner we went to games which was Alex's first games.
Mexico, Norway, China, Outpost, Germany,Italy

On Tuesday Kailie, Alex and I met up at Epcot after Alex's discovery day and we took a trip around the world. I have not done this yet so I really wanted to do Kidcot and Kailie had a really cool idea to have a cast member in each location take our picture. It was so much fun seeing all of the different countries because the last time I saw them all was in 2006 and I don't think we spent much time in each country. Alex grabbed a beer in Germany and I grabbed a wine in Italy (it was amazing). When we got to Canada they were showing the new F&B around so we got to see all of them as well as see our fellow Canadians in action.

American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, UK, Canada
After Epcot and our trip around the world we took the boat to Hollywood Studios. Once there we headed to Rockin Roller Coaster to get a fast past (of course) and then headed to Tower of Terror where we rode it twice in a row. We also went to Star Tours before heading back to Rockin. After I stood in line for Fantasmic (my fav) while Kailie and Alex rode Tower of Terror for a third time. In the way into the amphitheater I was attacked by a stroller (apparently I was a great moving target). Kailie saw Fantasimic for the first time and of course loved it.

If all of that was not awesome enough the three of us took a cab to DTD and we saw Iron Man 3 at the AMC theater. I miss my theater family back home A LOT and being in the theater made me feel a tiny home sick. However I was very impressed since it was what they call Fork and Screen which means, Yes we ate while we watched the movie. It was so cool and the best way to end the night. Which I have to thank Kailie for such an amazing idea :)

Yesterday at work I had a guest come in with his family and it turned out that he was
a CRP in 08/09 which was so cool because he was the first former merchie that I have met.

Hopefully I will not go so long in-between this and my next blog.

Also this week is trainer Zach's birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him :)

In another side note my aunt, uncle and cousin will be arriving next week so look out for a family related post.

I also want to point out

how awesome my mom and sister are for sending me my first care package.

Girls.... Just Wanna Have Fun

My Days Off

My RDO (regular days off) are Monday and Tuesday. I really like that right now I have Mondays off because normally Mondays are blah but not to me.

Yesterday Laura D, April and I all had the day off so we went to Magic Kingdom to check out the New Fantasyland since I have not seen it yet and then headed off to Hollywood Studios.

We took the monorail to Magic Kingdom in the morning and saw the new Fantasyland. I loved Gaston's Taveren where Lefou's Brew is the signature drink  (it is very good)

After I bought these really pretty fairy mickey ears we headed to Hollywood Studios and went on pretty much all the rides and shows.

The day was amazing with it only pouring rain during lunch when we were safely under an umbrella at a picnic table. The night ended in a somewhat sad note however because of the weather they had to cancel Fantasmic and then walking home from my bus stop to my house I was soaked from head to toe. Despite the rain it was an awesome day with my girls <3.

We just had our Inspection and I get to go pick up cookies from the front desk. YAY. So of course I am going to go do that. I also have to get my laundry from the dryer and go to Wal-Mart.
On a side note we get a bunch more awesome Canadians today including a new Canada Merch (Alex). Can't wait :)

Hi ho.... It's off to work I go

This Post is Going to be about my first two weeks as a Canadian Merchie.

First off I have now earned my ears. YAY.

I have gone through most of my training already which is good.

Kailie, Mary and I started training about a week ago. My trainer was Shelby (who is amazing) and Kailie and Mary had Zach as their trainer however there were two days where all five of us were training together. It was so much fun to train with both trainers.

I had my assessment on Tuesday April 23rd and of course with an awesome trainer like Shelby I passed. Later that day I was on my own which was a little nerve racking but it all turned out just fine.

One of the things that I am very quickly learning is that it is so easy to have instant friends because everyone here is so nice. I have also learned that sometimes you have very little time to get to know some people since everyone arrives at different times. On Wednesday which was my first day without any training was also one of Canada's merchie Sam's last day. I went down to cart to see her kind of send off that the managers do. It made me a little sad because she seemed so nice and she would have  probably been a very great friend.
Sam's Last day merchies from left to right. (Daniel, Zach, Ivy, Mary, Jodey, Sam, Shelby, Allison)

Since that I have done all posts and have started to enjoy engraver (I did not at first.)

I have a also done a EMH (Extra Magic Hours) shift with Kailie which had it's moments but went pretty smoothly.

I thought that in this post I would let you know a little bit about each position at merch.

Post 1: At post one you are at the front of the store manning it's register
Post 2: At post two you are at the back register and sometimes  do extra tasks if needed
Cart: At cart you are outside at the cart manning the register
Engraver: At engraver you are at the cart manning the engraver
Tasking: Tasking is little tasks that are often 15mins long.

Singing... In the rain

 Hey Everyone

I have today off so I thought I would try to get up a post. My post about work is going to have to wait however because I have still not had my "prove it day" when I find out if I can succeed on my own. That day is tomorrow so I will try to post my work post sometime at the end of this week.

I have done a lot of awesome stuff since my last blog post. I will try to write everything I can remember. The days all melt together so I am hoping the dates are right.

I have been having so much fun with my Canadian arrival group (Laura D, Laura S, Bry, Mike, Kailie,  April, Mel and Mary). We have been finding time to hang out even though we all have crazy training schedules. They are all so amazing and awesome. I don't know if I could have got through "throw in" without them beside me or without my fellow merch friend Katie who is equally as awesome.

I also have an awesome new friend named Rodrigo who is from Mexico. He has become my Walmart buddy which is always a very good thing to have here.

Hollywood Studios
On Thursday the 18th Bry and I had the day off so she and I decided that we would go to Hollywood Studios. She had lunch with a friend so I went to the pool and had an awesome time swimming and sunbathing. After I went home and got ready I went to get Bry from her house and we met up with Kailie and headed to Hollywood studios. We had to go to Walgreens (located across form Vista) first because Bry was burnt to a crisp and she needed aloe. Zac got off work after 5 so we met him at HS and had dinner at one of the quick serve places which was awesome. We did Tower of Terror and The Great Movie ride and walked around dancing to the music for a little bit. I wanted to see Fantasmic but the early show was standing room only so I choose to wait and see the 9:30 show. We went shopping to pass the time and then Kailie and Bry ditched me (with good reason since Bry had to get up early) but Zac stayed and we watched Fantasmic. Zac went and bought a really cool light up Fantasmic Mickey hat (I will be buying one soon) and we got good seats up front. There was a good amount of wind however and we were splashed by the water cannons. They had to pause the show but they did resume it (yay Disney) . I can not wait to see it 100 times more.

On Friday the 19 Laura D, April and I had the day off so after my very long sleep (it was sooo needed) I went to join them around 2 at the pool. It rained for a little so we sat at the sheltered part of the pool and decided we would meet the others for dinner. Plans kept getting changed but we ended up going to Epcot in time to miss the fireworks :(. At that point it was me, April, Laura D, Kailie, and Mel. At Epcot we saw Rodrigo so he came with us to Downtown Disney. We ate at House of Blues and met up with Bry after dinner.

Yesterday Sunday April 21st  I went to Universal with my awesome roommate Kimie and my new friend from Japan (Nori) who is also awesome. It was my first time there so I really wanted to go to see the Harry Potter castle.

We left around 11 and arrived there around 12. We took the I Ride which is a modern trolley which is only .25 for Disney Cast Members. The I Ride takes you down International Drive so it will really come in handy. It is also not that far from Commons which is really good. Kimie, Nori and I got there and had a bite to eat and then  Nori and I purchased our year passes :). When we got in the park we went on Hulk which was awesome. Right after however it down poured so we went to the indoor Spider Man ride. We then made our way to the Wizarding World in the pouring rain. After the amazing castle ride the rain had stopped. However it did rain the whole rest of the day on and off so we stuck with the indoor rides. Although we were wet we had an awesome day and went home and fell right to sleep around 11.

Sorry the post was so long

A Little Faith.... And Pixie Dust

Hey

So I have been crazy busy but I am going to try to catch you up on everything I have been doing since I got here.

First off I will mention that I did get a phone when I got down here and then of course lost it. It is all good now though since I got a new phone but got to keep my old phone number.

I have been down here for 9 days already which is crazy. Everyday goes so fast and melts together.

Last post I said that I had not met the roommate I am sharing a room with and later that night I did meet her. Her name is Kimmi and she is from Japan and is AMAZING. She and I are planning on going to Universal on my day off Sunday (for my first time).

So I will let you know that I have started training but I will let that be it's own post later.

I know when I was reading other posts I loved reading about the fun stuff they got to do so that is what I am going to write about.

Day off number 1 (Friday the 12th)

So Sat was traditions which means that we did not have our park passes yet however Zac (Canada, Attractions) graciously used his gate pass so we were his guests. Me, Bry and April (Canada, F&B) went with Zac to AK and MK and saw Wishes at night which was amazing. I loved everything about that day and it was a great way to start off my year.

Mon the 22nd

I went to games night which was awesome. Games night is when a group of the Canadians get together to play games. This is done every Monday.

Tues the 16th

Tuesday was Discovery Day but it was also the morning I lost my phone (very sad face). I enjoyed it so much but later on I was distracted since I did not have my phone and was worried about it. Kailei and Mary  (fellow start date merchies) were awesome people however and distracted me a little bit by taking me around Epcot as a guest. We went on the Nemo and friends ride (which is amazing) as well as the revamped Test Track and also dipped into Canada to watch the 360 degree movie attraction which I have seen so many times and yet still love it. After that I left them so I could go home to rest since I was both physically and mentally exhausted.

If I can get a hold of Bry I will be headed to HS with her since I have today and tomorrow off. Also Today is my trainer Shelby's Birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her.

I will leave you with a picture of me at AK

I Made it here.... Tired but Alive

Hey everyone

It is very late but I wanted to do a quick post.

I went to the airport this morning and met up with Bryanna  who is my "Disney Sister" after just a few months (love my life :) ). I did have two very silly moments one which included me having to go back to security to get a stamp I got in the wrong place the first time and the second which was me realizing my shirt had been on backwards from the time I woke up to the time I was finished at security.
Me and Bry at Orlando International Airport

Me and Bry went to Walmart which took a long time. We arrived home at 8:00pm and I had a good cry in my room to my parents. I met up with one of the merch girls and she made me feel so much better, she even helped me unpack (a reason I love nice people). She arrived 7 weeks ago so she is very in the know.

I have met all my roommates except the one I am sharing a room with (figures). Three are from Japan and the one who arrived today is from China. I also have a roommate who is from Mexico but she leaves in 7 weeks. My one roommate will be leaving very soon since today was her last day.

I am very tired so this post may seem a little messy and all over the place.

I will try to write more later.

Three More Days to Go..... Happy Birthday to Me

I leave for Disney World in three days and today just happens to be my 22nd Birthday!

My family and my best friends came to my house tonight for a birthday/ going away party. I am glad to say that there were no tears however I may end up crying a river later tonight before I go to bed :(

My aunt made the most amazing birthday/ going away cake that was of course Disney themed.

My Awesome Birthday/Going Away Cake

This is also the first blog I have wrote in a while so I will let you know a little about what has been going on since March 8th.

On April 1st I had my last day of work at Cineplex. It was most definitely a day full of tears since it was my first real job and I have been there for 4 1/2 years. My managers are amazing as well as my fellow cast members who I will miss like crazy.
Although it was sad to say goodbye to everyone I know that I will be back in a year.
I am also just about ready. I am not fully packed but my mom and I did a practice pack and I am 5lbs below the weight limit which is a VERY good thing. I also have my visa and other documents ready to go :)
That is all I have to say for now but I thought I would leave you with a great Disney Birthday quote (thanks to my sister for reminding me)
Also I am glad that Laura  is safe and sound in Orlando!! :)

Almost Here.... Only a month to go

A MONTH TO GO!!

Only one more month until I will be living and working in Orlando. I am almost ready, however every time I think I have everything under control, I find five more things I still have to do.

I have my Disney package now as well as my visa and I have paid for my flight and medical as well as my housing deposit.

I went and spent an afternoon this week with Laura who will be starting at WDW the same time as me. We had a great time getting to know each other and fueling each other's excitement.
 YAY!!!

We celebrated my sister's birthday yesterday and it made me realize how many birthdays and other special days I will miss when I am away (sad face). However, meeting Laura made me feel better because I know I will have a Disney "family" too and we will celebrate things together.

My sister's ice cream cake... yum

Winter Wonderland.... Brrr

As April gets closer and we get closer to spring I have decided that I may actually miss winter. I do hate having to clean off my car when I leave for work and being frozen is not that fun either but SNOW DAYS are the best.

Yesterday (Friday Feb 8th) my town received a lot of snow as you can see from the pictures. My dad works out of town so he stayed home and we went on Thursday and picked up my sister from school so she was home also. My mom's work had a closure part way through the day so she was home in the afternoon. We all stayed home and my sister and her friend made treats and we watched movies, which was really nice since I am trying to be around them as much as I can before I leave.
Family Friend "Abby" having fun

I decided that I wanted to take pictures because it looked so beautiful so I had Abby (family friend) dress up in her winter clothes and play in the snow. The above picture of her was so cool that I went online and found a new site that lets me edit it which is going to be really helpful in Disney.
